Duke of Edinburgh Award

Leader training

Marle Hall runs validation and revalidation courses for D of E leaders who wish to take groups out from Warwickshire. The course either allows you to lead your groups in terrain below 600 metres (-600) or above 600 metres (+600).

The -600 course is run by Kingsbury Water Park, our sister centre in Warwickshire. The course is based in the Peak District and is a 2 day course.

For more information on this course contact either Mark Daniel at KWP or James Vann (D of E Award Officer)

At Marle Hall we run the +600 course based at the Centre in North Wales. The course again takes place over 2 days and focuses on navigation and group management, asking you to assess scenarios that may arise whilst out with groups.

For further information regarding this course contact Simon Patton at Marle Hall (click here), or for more information about the scheme contact Neil Wilson (Head of Warwickshire Outdoor Education Service)

D of E Gold Residential Courses 2014

Monday 25th August to Friday 29th August 2014            Cost £270 *

Tuesday 28th October to Saturday 1st November 2014          Cost £250 *

For the past few years we have run a D of E Gold residential course at the end of the summer holidays. These have all been very well attended and highly successful. So this year we are offering a choice of two week-long activity courses at Marle Hall, one in the summer as usual and one in the October half term. These are a great opportunity to challenge yourself, try new skills and activities and develop your team work and communication skills. You will have the chance to meet new people and have new experiences, as well as fulfilling the requirements of the residential section of your Gold D of E Award.

Activities on offer could include: canoeing, sea kayaking, gorge scrambling, rock climbing, abseiling, sea level traversing, underground exploration, zip wire, high ropes activities and much more.

The Courses are open to anyone who has enrolled to do their Gold D of E Award.

* This year a bursary of £100 is available for young people enrolled with Warwickshire D of E Gold Award

For more information on either of these courses, contact the Centre.
